MMA has heard some bad news in the past couple weeks and here comes some more. Quite possibly MMA’s greatest fighter of all times, Anderson “The Spider” Silva, is already talking retirement. In a recent quote, Silva said
“I’ll retire next year, I already gave my all. I don’t need to prove anything for anyone and within one year I’ll put my gloves aside.”
This is a huge bummer for the MMA world. As a spectacular Muay-Thai and BJJ fighter, Anderson Silva has beaten some of the greatest fighters in today’s MMA including, James Irvin, Dan Henderson, Rich Franklin, Nate Marquardt, Travis Lutter and Chris Leben. He has virtually walked through every opponent that has been set in front of him and has a way of making it look very easy.
Lets hope that this is a Michal Jordan style retirement and Anderson Silva won’t stay gone for long.
