All reports are pointing to one thing–Brett Favre will retire for a third time. This time he will retire from the Minnesota Vikings after stringing them along all offseason.
Adam Schefter has reported that someone close to the situation said Favre has informed the Vikings that he’s done. This is after Minnesota sent Brad Childress down to Mississippi this summer to check on Favre.
Favre will leave the game with the record for consecutive games played, TDs, passing yards, and a Super Bowl ring. Plus, he’s leaving his teammates with text messages that say, “This is it”.
It appears the Vikings’ best efforts were in vain. A press release is scheduled for this afternoon that should confirm Minnesota’s worst fears:
They’re starting Tavaris Jackson this season.
