There’s nothing fancy about this dish. It’s very easy to make and it has been a favorite of mine for many years. Because this meal contains a fair amount of fat, it’s not something I would eat every day Actually, it’s the visible “marble” fat in sirloin tips which gives it such an intense flavor. So take a trip to the grocery store and pick up the three ingredients: sirloin tips, white rice, and steak sauce.
Once you complete the three step cooking process (below, right), combine all ingredients in a large bowl and enjoy! You may want to cut the 1″ slices of meat into smaller pieces before mixing everything.
BEEF. If you’re like me, then you’ve got to have your red meat at least once every 10 days. When I’m pushing my body to the limit in the gym, nothing seems to give me that extra boost quite like red meat. I’m very picky about the meat I eat. My favorites include filet mignon, flank steak, and of course, sirloin tips.
Cooking Tips
- select a lean cut
- cut into even 1″ strips
- remove visible fat
- cook on high heat to
- seal in the juices
- do not overcook
Although Sirloin tips have lots of flavor, I still like to add a spicy BBQ style sauce. My favorite is Paul Newman’s Steak Sauce.
- Remove the tips and cut them into 1″ pieces. Trim all visible fat on the sides.
- Bring 2 cups water to a boil and add 1 cup white rice. Cook over low heat for 20 minutes.
- Cook the meat on medium-high to seal in the juices. Five minutes is all you need.
